Here is my research evaluation

How did your research into genre contribute to your production work?

My research into genre contributed really well because I analysed trailers in my research which were in the Horror/Thriller/Mystery genre which helped me understand more how the conventions are used in the trailers, and how I Horror poster is presented, as I researched into the inception Poster and how they use the conventions, as my projects are in the Horror genre.

How did your research into audience contribute to your production work?

My research into audience contributed really well into my production as I used a questionnaire which I posted on Facebook to see what was peoples favourite film genre, what is their best feature on a film poster etc. This therefore helped as when I was creating my poster I knew which was the main feature to concentrate on.

 

What pre-production planning techniques did you employ (scripting, storyboarding, shot-listing, flat planning etc)?

The pre-production planning techniques that I employed was a storyboard for my film trailer, flat plans for my film poster and film magazine cover, shot listing for my film trailer.

 

How effective was your planning how did it help you in the production phase?

My planning was very effective because I used plans for my poster and film magazine cover, and I used a storyboard for my film trailer, Shortlisting for my film trailer and scripting for my trailer. This therefore helped me as it made my production stages quicker and easier.

 

What did you learn from planning your first production that helped you to improve your planning for the second?

I learnt that I had to design a  plan before I actually started the first production and that I received as much feedback as possible before I started my production work.

 

How did your research into institutions, responsible for the production and regulation of the media, influence your production?

My research into institutions influenced my production as I researched into Lionsgate and Warner Bros as these institutions were on my billing block.

How did you use audience feedback to influence your production work while it was in progress?

I used audience feedback for all my production work while they were in progress, I used Facebook,YouTube and a Questionnaire to receive feedback. I therefore got feedback off my teachers, students and Internet users

 

Even though I have done my research evaluation I still feel I need to describe more how I developed research and planning skills for media production and evaluate how these skills contributed to creative decision making
